about

Channeling the psychedelic soul of Badu and Saadiq and the electropop of Cornelius, I QMCQQ2156704 write a love letter about how the immensity of time and space shrinks to a dot when we recognize a kindred spirit, a mirror of our better self. Once I locked in to this syrupy groove with Jayson Altman (Chrysta Bell), Frank Orrall (Poi Dog Pondering/Thievery Corporation) punctuated the wobble with percussion, guzheng and delight.

lyrics

let’s roll on out and take it to the stars
the top is up
we see the past above us
imagine the future is where we are
now thats somethin we could both believe
if we get into the feeling that it’s
been a long long time
since it all began and here we are
don’t ya know it

we gotta stand straight and tall
cuz we’re beautiful
and life is golden only what we make of it so
let’s make it work out

I can see it on your face
what’s inside your head is what’s inside of mine

we’re movin now you realize we are
glitter in the distance imagine light to a future star
now is that somethin you can squeeze
inside of believin that it’s been a longer time
since it all began than we know
but here we are so

we gotta stand straight and tall
cuz we’re beautiful
and life is golden only what we make of it so
let’s make it work out

I can see it on your face
what’s inside your head is what’s inside of mine
