come sit down by the fire and warm your precious bones we’ll toast the dead and tell tales of the old times before we sail on in younger days I ruined my liver and lost every fight including the one to stay single and happy and for that I blame you my wife curse the past and time gone by too fast let’s dance let’s drink and sing so sweet I promise next year will be richer than the last we’ll live like kings on Christmas street sing young lovers leave your worries aside there’s nothing to despair you have the whole world and all it provides in front of you in the new year curse the past and time gone by too fast let’s dance let’s drink and sing I promise next year will be richer than the last we’ll live like kings on Christmas street come sit down by the fire and warm your frozen bones we’ll toast the dead and tell tales of the old time before we sail on

Christmas time is here Happiness and cheer Fun for all that children call Their favorite time of the year Snowflakes in the air Carols everywhere Olden times and ancient rhymes Of love and dreams to share Sleigh bells in the air Beauty everywhere Yuletide by the fireside And joyful memories there Christmas time is here We'll be drawing near Oh, that we could always see Such spirit through the year Oh, that we could always see Such spirit through the year...

about

When winter solstice comes, let's all get together and hammer and nail the adventures of the year to the last page of the calendar. We'll feast and make merry, pay homage to the past and prepare for the resetting of the clock.

Written and recorded deep in the heart of the ATX, this is an Austin Christmas record without ever mentioning Austin once, the way Santa intended it to be.

Drop the magic needle on this well seasoned delight and celebrate the existence of all you love.

Happy Christmas everybody!
Bruce Hughes
